When a connection does not work

  1. Check which account and workspace your AI client is using. If its authoritative settings show the MCP was registered for another account, connect it in the intended account. Missing tools alone do not prove an account mismatch or expired credentials.
  2. Confirm the plugin exposes callable Cuttlefish tools. Plugin metadata, a connected computer and a working local CLI do not by themselves establish cloud tool access.
  3. Use the client's native OAuth flow and select only the projects and permissions you need. The read-only cloud plugin uses project, run, log, workflow and rig reads.
  4. Ask the client to call cuttlefish_whoami and cuttlefish_projects_list. Check the returned scopes and project roles. A successful sign-in without project membership is an access issue, not proof of a broken API.

Manage existing grants in Connected apps. Reconnecting is appropriate for a confirmed authorisation failure; an invalid tool argument should be corrected without reconnecting or increasing permissions.

What to include in a report

Include the product and client name, approximate time with time zone, tool name, minimal reproduction steps, exact error text and any request or correlation ID. Include only the project or run identifiers needed to investigate and redact unrelated content from screenshots.

Do not send passwords, API keys, access or refresh tokens, OAuth authorisation links, private keys or complete private job logs. We can agree a suitable way to provide narrowly scoped evidence if it is needed.

Privacy and data requests

Use the same email for access, correction, deletion requests or privacy complaints. Specify the account, project and record category. We may need to verify your identity. Revoking a connection stops access according to its controls; it does not automatically delete service records, backups or copies in an AI client. See the privacy policy and terms of service.
